When Brent Dixon was a kid, he wanted to be a tractor. That didn’t work out, and so he founded The Haberdashery, a design and new media studio based in Brooklyn, New York. He’s the New Media Manager for REAL Solutions, speaks nationally on creativity, social media, and new marketing, and writes about whatever tickles his fancy at ItsJustBrent.com.
Before founding his studio, Brent spent five years as Creative Director of Trabian, an Indianapolis-based interactive agency. He’s worked with the Filene Research Institute, the National Credit Union Foundation, CUES, and dozens of credit unions of all shapes and sizes.
Brent is an advisor specializing in young adult issues. The Filene Research Institute has partnered with Brent to present, advise, and complete project work with credit unions based on their young adult research. Brent is a leading thinker, speaker and do’er in the areas of young adult outreach, creativity, design, and user experience. He leads online creative strategy for the REAL Solutions Impact Center.
Brent likes to make things, including:
The Haberdashery, a creative studio based in Brooklyn, New York with a love for people, design, and the Web.
Crash the GAC, a movement to get young people involved in credit union events.
“Things That Have Nothing To Do With Credit Unions, But Have Everything To Do With Credit Unions,” an inspiration blog for an industry stuck in its own head.
And, alongside some friends, the now-retired blog Open Source CU, which many attribute as the birthplace of the credit union social media movement.
Brent has been cited in and written for numerous industry publications, and is a contributing author to The Age of Conversation 2. He writes about whatever tickles his fancy at itsjustbrent.com.
